About Dr. Rachel Kim

Dr. Rachel Kim is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience providing support to diverse children, adolescents, families, and adults with a wide range of mental health challenges. She has worked in diverse clinical settings - including community mental health agencies, specialty outpatient clinics, and schools. Dr. Kim has a strong foundation in evidence-based psychotherapies, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),

  • Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH),

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT),

  • Organizational Skills Training,

  • Exposure and Response Prevention, and

  • Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).

Dr. Kim is passionate about tailoring scientifically proven treatments to the unique needs of diverse youth, families, and adults. As a working parent of two, she also cares about supporting other parents and caregivers as they navigate parenthood and busy careers.

Dr. Kim earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Spanish from Tufts University. Prior to founding Magnolia Psychological Consulting, Dr. Kim was the Senior Director of Implementation and Associate Director of Training at the Baker Center for Children and Families. At the Baker Center, she led a multidisciplinary team that provided clinical training in evidence-based treatments and consultation to organizations and systems on program implementation and systems’ change.

Dr. Kim blends clinical expertise, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to leveraging clients’ strengths to foster meaningful, sustainable impact.
